Sometimes when you train your dog, especially a more dominant breed like a German Shepherd training becomes very regimented and stern. That was the case with Annie and Ray. He did a great job training her: she is very obedience, but Ray wanted a little bit more - and that was to have Annie look like she's having fun. So we turned training into a game. This video will help you understand how to change your obedience training into a game. This is very helpful when you're dealing with a softer dog, like Annie.
It's important not to get hung up on breed labels. For example, German Shepherds are seen as dominant, strong dogs - and they usually are. But when you run across a softer dog like Annie, you have to consider the dog over the training. You'll see with some changes in the training routine, Annie had a much happier time training!
