Your own confidence has a lot to do with the way you portray yourself to your dog. The more calm, collected, and in control you appear to be, the more likely your dog is to listen to you. It’s when owners feel frantic, anxious, change their tone of voice, and their state of mind becomes frazzled that the dog questions who is actually capable of leading them. As much as you may dread the walk due to your dogs bad behavior, with the right training, and the right tools, you will be able to remain much, much calmer all around. You will be able to actually “own” the walk and walk with purpose. All success with dog training begins with the owners ability to feel confident in themselves. That’s why I put so much emphasis on empowering my clients. I want THEM to be successful.
