This is a topic that is very near and dear to my heart as I have trained a few older dogs to listen that have had little or no obedience training beforehand. This presents some unique challenges for you as the trainer, and it also is really helpful to have a good understanding of some basic puppy training techniques. Teaching your dog to listen to you is vital if you ever want to progress to a point where you have some off-leash control.
