You will be able to implement these potty training tips immediately to help you get started off right with your new perfect addition to your family.

There are only 3 things that can help you with housebreaking your Golden Retriever - Patience, Consistency and the right guidance on House-training.

What is the very first thing you want to teach your new Golden Retriever puppy or Adult Golden Retriever? In my experience it is to teach him the right way and place to go to the bathroom. Your precious little Retriever doesn't yet know how to do this correctly, and it's your responsibility as his caretaker to teach him.

When we first got our new Golden Retriever puppy, named him Bailey. One of the first things of course we did was to begin house training Bailey. But what we quickly discovered is, Housebreaking our adorable little Golden Retriever Bailey became a bigger task than we thought it would be.

The reasons for that was, we had no clue about potty training our adorable little Golden Retriever pupster.

How To Potty Train A Golden Retriever Tips - You Need to Set Up a Schedule - A schedule will help your Retriever learn what he or she should be doing, and what to expect from you. So setting up a schedule is really important.

We started taking Bailey outside - and you should do the same:

the first thing in the morning when we both woke up. again 15-30 minutes after Bailey eats. after he has taken a nap. and we learned that If you see your little guy sniffing around looking for a spot to relieve himself.

It is a good idea to use a routine along with your schedule. Take your Golden Retriever puppy or adult Golden Retriever to the same place every time he has to go. This will teach him or her to use that spot, and your Golden Retriever will always search for it when he needs to go to the bathroom.

Another thing to remember is to also let your Golden Retriever walk around and enjoy the outside once he finishes his business. This way he won’t have it in his mind that the only way he can get to go outside, is if he wants to go potty. So he will do a much quicker and better job of relieving himself.

Clean Up the Mess

clean up any mess your Golden Retriever may accidentally make is pretty obvious. Your house will smell like pee and poop. Cleaning up shouldn't be hard and usually just simply using a paper towel and then washing will do the trick. But this only fixes issues of the smell for you and your home.

Pay Attention

Make sure to keep an eye on your little bundle of energy. You will learn the signs of when he needs to pee or poop pretty quickly. And once you do that you can start to make sure your Cutest little guy only goes where it is OK.

Remember that house training takes some patience. You don’t need to yell or be aggressive.

It will take a while for your Golden Retriever to fully understand, that it is not OK to go potty wherever he wants. He will slowly learn where it is OK to go, and he will ask you to go there when he needs to. Take your time and put your love and care into the whole process.
