Brittney working with Boomer on the out command. She lets him play with the toy and interacts with him and then gives a verbal “out”. When we ask for the out command, we not only want them to let go of the toy, but to also disengage from it mentally. We teach this command by using a leash and guiding them away from food or a toy to start and then once we know they have a solid understanding of what is expected, we hold them accountable and the consequences are higher.
