Alfie is a dog that took one of our beginner group dog training and communication courses. This is the story of his transformation and how we helped the owner to get started on this path. Alfie was going after, and lunging after dogs aggressively on sight and even going after his own reflection in the mirror on day one of the group class. Lindsay was hesitant to attend class because of his behavior but proceeded to take the class anyway.
What you will see here is that aggression itself was not the problem but simply a symptom of the real problem which was lack of structure, and effective communication. As a result Alfie was misguided, nervous, stressed and anxious with what he did not understand and was not properly exposed to. Many dogs that we work with come in FAR worse than this but it goes to show you that there is hope and anyone out there from other trainers or veterinarians that say it can't be fixed or want to shove medication down the dogs throat as an answer.....well they clearly don't have an answer.
